What is Modular Education?
Our seminary offers a unique modular format of education that attracts students from all around the world. Although some courses are offered in a traditional semester format (such as Greek and Hebrew), most of our seminary classes concentrate the classroom component into one-week, all-day classes. In modular classes, students often are expected to complete both pre- and post-course assignments.
We invite you to consider these advantages of modular style education:
- our part-time students can stay employed in their various job/ministry positions and still attend our classes as their work schedules allow.
- full-time students can study according to a flexible schedule that fosters more time for family and/or part-time employment.
- the intense one-week courses enable increased immersion in a focused subject.
- our unique community of on-campus and visiting part-time students creates a rich environment by adding perspectives from current research, ministry, and marketplace contexts to our dialogue (both in and out of the classroom).
- the one-week schedule allows Briercrest to offer a greater number of adjunct and visiting faculty specialists.
