Teaching Philosophy


Marv is a veteran youth worker with more than 45 years of experience in working with teenagers and young adults, their families and the men and women who care about young people. He is a registered clinical counselor specializing in adolescent and family issues. Marv has written half a dozen book on youth and family ministry and has contributed to many other published resources. He has taught on issues of youth ministry and counseling around the world and is a regular adjunct faculty member at 8 or 9 seminaries and colleges. He currently serves as director of All About Youth, Canada and is the founder and director of The Coalition for Youth Ministry Excellence. Marv has three grown children and 5 grandkids and lives near Kelowna, BC with his wife Lois.
